Extreme Monster Truck Review & Gameplay Guide
I just spent the last few hours playing Extreme Monster Truck and I have to say, it's been a wild ride. The game is all about monster trucks, and I mean, who doesn't love a good monster truck game? The idea of crushing cars and jumping over obstacles is just too cool. The graphics in the game are pretty decent, the trucks look nice and the environments are pretty detailed. I did notice a few frame rate drops here and there, but nothing too serious.
The gameplay is where things get a little mixed for me. On the one hand, the driving mechanics are pretty solid, the trucks handle well and the physics are decent. I loved smashing into cars and watching them fly everywhere, it was really satisfying. The tracks are also pretty well designed, with plenty of jumps and obstacles to navigate. But on the other hand, the game can get a little repetitive. You're basically just racing around a track, smashing into things and trying to get to the finish line first. It's fun at first, but after a while it starts to feel a little samey.
One thing that I did like about the game is the variety of trucks you can choose from. There are a ton of different monsters to pick from, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. I spent a while trying out different trucks and finding the one that suited my driving style the best. The customization options are also pretty deep, you can change everything from the engine to the suspension to the paint job. It's nice to be able to make your truck feel truly yours.
But despite all the good things about the game, I have to say that the lack of a multiplayer mode is a major disappointment. I mean, can you think of anything more fun than smashing into your friends' trucks and racing against them? It seems like a no-brainer, but for some reason the developers didn't include it. It's a shame, because I think it would have really added to the game's replay value. As it is, the game starts to feel a little old after a while, and I found myself getting bored with the single-player mode.
I'm also not a huge fan of the sound design in the game. The trucks sound okay, but the music is pretty cheesy and the sound effects are a little lacking. It's not a major issue, but it does take away from the overall experience a bit. The voice acting is also pretty cringeworthy, the announcer's voice is so over-the-top that it's almost laughable. But hey, at least it's not boring.
Overall, I'd say that Extreme Monster Truck is a solid game that's worth checking out if you're a fan of monster trucks or just looking for a fun, mindless game to play. It's not perfect, but it's definitely enjoyable, and the variety of trucks and customization options are a major plus. Just don't expect too much in the way of depth or complexity, and you'll be fine. With a few tweaks and the addition of a multiplayer mode, this game could have been really something special. As it is, it's just a fun little diversion that's worth playing for a few hours.
