HUNTMAN Review & Gameplay Guide
I just finished playing through Huntman and I've got to say, it's been a wild ride. I'd seen some videos and streams of the game before I picked it up, but I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. The game's got a pretty unique look and feel to it, with a focus on exploration and puzzle-solving in a weird, mystical world. The story's a bit hard to follow at times, but that's kind of part of the charm - it's all very cryptic and mysterious, and I found myself getting drawn in and wanting to learn more about the world and its strange creatures.
The gameplay's where Huntman really shines, though. The controls are super tight and responsive, and the platforming and combat mechanics are really well-done. I loved the feeling of exploring the different environments and uncovering hidden secrets and paths - it's got a really great sense of discovery and adventure to it. The puzzles can be a bit tough at times, but they're always fair and logical, and I never felt like I was getting frustrated or stuck. The game's also got a really great sense of atmosphere and tension, with a fantastic soundtrack and some really creepy sound design.
One thing that did take a bit of getting used to was the game's difficulty curve. It starts off pretty easy, but then ramps up pretty quickly - I found myself dying a lot more often as I progressed through the game. But even when I was getting frustrated, I never felt like the game was being unfair or cheap - it always felt like it was my own fault, and that I just needed to try again with a different approach. And when I finally did beat a tough section or boss, it was always super satisfying and rewarding. The game's also got a really great sense of progression and upgrade, with new abilities and items to unlock as you go - it's always feeling like you're getting stronger and more capable.
I do have a few minor complaints about the game, though. The camera can be a bit wonky at times, especially in tight spaces or when you're fighting multiple enemies at once. And some of the platforming sections can be a bit too precise, requiring you to make some really tricky jumps or timing-based maneuvers. But overall, these are pretty minor issues, and they didn't detract from my overall experience with the game. I also wish there was a bit more variety in the enemies and environments - while the game's world is really unique and interesting, it can start to feel a bit samey after a while.
Despite these minor issues, I'd definitely recommend Huntman to anyone who's a fan of action-adventure games or is just looking for something a bit different. It's a really unique and captivating game that's full of surprises and challenges - and it's got a really great sense of personality and style to it. The game's also pretty short, which is a bit of a drawback - I beat it in around 10 hours, and I was left wanting more. But even with its short length, Huntman's a game that's definitely worth playing, and I'm excited to see what the developers do next.
Overall, I'm really glad I picked up Huntman - it's a game that's stuck with me long after I finished playing it, and I'm still thinking about its world and characters. It's not perfect, but it's a really great example of a game that's willing to take risks and try new things - and it's definitely a game that I'll be remembering for a long time. If you're looking for a game that's a bit off the beaten path, or just want something new and interesting to play, I'd definitely recommend giving Huntman a shot.
