I just spent the last few hours playing Neon Assault and I've got to say, it's been a wild ride. The game's got this crazy retro vibe going on, with neon lights and a synth soundtrack that's totally on point. It's like they took all the best parts of the 80s and 90s and mashed them together into this awesome, over-the-top shooter. I mean, the graphics aren't exactly cutting-edge, but they're definitely stylized and fit the game's aesthetic perfectly.

The gameplay's pretty straightforward - you run around, shooting bad guys and collecting power-ups. It's not super complex, but it's a lot of fun. The controls are tight and responsive, and the level design's clever enough that you'll need to use your wits to get through some of the tougher sections. The enemies are pretty varied, too - you've got your standard grunts, but also these bigger, badder guys that take a lot of ammo to take down. And then there are the bosses, which are just insane. I mean, I've died like five times on the first one alone, but it's one of those things where you're like, "Yeah, that was my fault, I should've seen that coming."

One thing that's really impressed me about Neon Assault is the sound design. The music's great, like I said, but the sound effects are also top-notch. The guns all sound different, and the explosions are nice and loud. It's one of those games where you'll want to play with the volume turned up, just to get the full effect. And the best part is, it's not just the big, flashy sounds that are well-done - even the little things, like the sound of your character's footsteps or the hum of the enemies' lasers, are all really well-done.

Now, I know some people might be put off by the game's difficulty. It's not easy, especially on the higher levels. But for me, that's part of the charm. I love a game that challenges me, and Neon Assault definitely does that. You'll need to learn the patterns of the enemies and the layouts of the levels if you want to make it through. And even then, there's always a chance you'll get caught out by something unexpected. It's not frustrating, though - at least, not for me. It's more like, "Okay, cool, I died. Let me try that again."

I've been playing Neon Assault on my PC, and I've had zero issues with performance. The game runs smooth as silk, even on my older hardware. I've heard some people talking about bugs and glitches, but I haven't seen any of that myself. Maybe I just got lucky, but it's been a really seamless experience so far. And the best part is, the devs seem to be really supportive, too - they're always responding to comments and feedback, and they've already released a few patches to fix some of the issues people were having.

Overall, I'd definitely recommend Neon Assault to anyone who's a fan of old-school shooters. It's not perfect, but it's a lot of fun, and it's clear that the devs are passionate about what they're doing. Even if you're not typically into this type of game, it's worth checking out just for the atmosphere and the sound design. And who knows, you might just find yourself getting hooked like I did. I'm definitely going to be playing more of this in the coming days - it's one of those games that's just really hard to put down.
