I just finished playing Prism Pulse and I have to say, it's been a wild ride. I went into this game not really knowing what to expect, but the trailer looked cool and I'd heard some good things from friends, so I decided to give it a shot. The gameplay is pretty unique - it's like a mix of a rhythm game and a puzzle game, with some action elements thrown in for good measure. You play as this little creature that's trying to navigate through a world made up of different colored prisms, and you have to time your movements to the beat of the music to progress.

At first, I was a bit skeptical - I mean, I'm not usually into rhythm games, and I was worried that the whole "timing your movements to the music" thing would get old fast. But surprisingly, it's actually really engaging. The music is catchy and the levels are challenging, but not so hard that they're frustrating. I found myself getting into a groove (no pun intended) and really enjoying the feeling of perfectly timing a jump or a dash to get through a tough section. The game also does a great job of introducing new mechanics and level elements as you progress, so it never gets too repetitive.

One thing that really stands out about Prism Pulse is the visuals. The game looks amazing - the prisms are all colorful and shiny, and the creature you play as is adorable. The levels are also really creative, with some clever uses of the prism mechanic to create interesting and challenging obstacles. I especially loved the levels that took place in the "dark" world, where the prisms are all broken and you have to navigate through a more subdued, monochromatic environment. It was a nice change of pace and added some variety to the game.

If I have any criticisms, it's that the game can be a bit on the short side. I finished the main campaign in about 5 hours, which is a bit disappointing considering the game's price point. There are some additional challenge levels and a "hard" mode that you can unlock, but it's not enough to really add a ton of replay value. I also had some issues with the controls - sometimes the game wouldn't register my inputs correctly, which could be frustrating when you're trying to time a precise jump. However, these issues were relatively rare, and overall I was really impressed with the game.

Despite its shortcomings, I would definitely recommend Prism Pulse to anyone looking for a fun, unique gaming experience. The game's blend of rhythm and puzzle elements is really compelling, and the visuals and music are top-notch. If you're a fan of games like Crypt of the NecroDancer or Thumper, you'll probably love Prism Pulse. Just be aware that it's a bit on the shorter side, and you may find yourself wishing there was more to play. Overall, though, I'm really glad I picked up Prism Pulse - it's a game that's stayed with me long after I finished playing it, and I'm already looking forward to a potential sequel.
