Splashy Sub Review & Gameplay Guide
I just spent the last few hours playing Splashy Sub and I've got to say, it's been a wild ride. I mean, the game is all about navigating a submarine through treacherous underwater caves, collecting gems and power-ups while avoiding obstacles like ocean monsters and spiky ceilings. It sounds simple enough, but trust me, it's a lot harder than it looks. The controls are pretty responsive, but the submarine can be a bit slippery to handle, especially when you're trying to make tight turns or squeeze through narrow passages.
One thing that really stands out about Splashy Sub is the visuals. The game has a really vibrant, colorful art style that's just a joy to look at. The underwater environments are all beautifully rendered, with coral reefs, sunken ships, and even the occasional school of fish darting by. The submarine itself is also pretty cool, with all sorts of flashing lights and spinning propellers that make it look like a real, high-tech vehicle. And the sound design is top-notch too, with all sorts of creepy underwater noises and a pounding electronic soundtrack that really gets your heart racing.
But enough about the aesthetics - how does the game actually play? Well, like I said, it's a lot harder than it looks. The levels get progressively tougher as you go along, with more and more obstacles to avoid and tighter and tighter spaces to navigate. There are also all sorts of power-ups and upgrades you can collect to help you out, like extra speed or invincibility, but you have to be careful not to get too distracted by all the shiny objects and forget about the actual goal of the level. And of course, there are the bosses - giant squids, sharks, and other sea monsters that you have to battle to progress through the game.
I've got to admit, I died a lot playing Splashy Sub. Like, a LOT. But the good news is that the game is pretty generous with its checkpoints, so you never have to restart from too far back. And even when you do die, it's always because of something you did wrong, not because of any cheap tricks or unfair level design. The game is tough, but it's fair, and that's what makes it so addictive. I found myself playing for hours on end, determined to beat just one more level or collect just one more gem.
If I've got any criticisms, it's that the game can get a bit repetitive after a while. I mean, you're basically doing the same thing over and over - navigating through underwater caves, collecting gems, avoiding obstacles - and it can start to feel a bit grindy. But at the same time, the game is just so much fun to play that I never really got bored. And the levels are all pretty short, so even if you do start to feel a bit repetitive, you can just take a break and come back to it later.
Overall, I'd definitely recommend Splashy Sub to anyone looking for a fun, challenging game to play. It's not perfect, but it's a lot of fun, and the visuals and sound design are just top-notch. And even if you do get frustrated with the difficulty level, just remember that it's all part of the fun - after all, what's a game without a little bit of challenge, right? So if you're looking for a new game to play, definitely give Splashy Sub a try - I think you'll be glad you did.
