I just spent the last weekend playing Variety Mecha and I have to say, it's been a wild ride. I mean, I've seen some weird and wonderful games in my time, but this one takes the cake. The premise is pretty simple - you play as a team of mechs, each with their own unique abilities and playstyles, and you have to use them to take down an alien invasion. But it's the execution that really sets it apart. The mechs are all so different, from the speedy little scout mech to the hulking great heavy mech, and you have to learn how to use each one to its full potential.

It's all over the place - some levels are a breeze, while others are just punishingly hard. And it's not like it's a gradual increase in difficulty, either - it's more like the game is just decided to spike the difficulty up to 11 and then back down again. It's disorienting, to say the least. And sometimes the controls can be a bit wonky, especially when you're trying to do something fancy with one of the more complex mechs. But overall, these are minor complaints - the game is still a ton of fun to play.

I also have to give Variety Mecha credit for its visuals and sound design. The game looks amazing, with bright, vibrant colors and detailed environments. The mechs themselves are all really well-designed, too - they look like they were ripped straight out of an anime or a sci-fi movie. And the sound effects are top-notch - the mechs all have their own unique sounds, from the whine of the scout mech's engines to the heavy mech's thunderous stomping. It all comes together to create a really immersive experience that draws you in and refuses to let go.

As I played through Variety Mecha, I couldn't help but think about how much potential it has. The game is already a lot of fun, but I can see how it could be even better with a bit more development. Maybe some more levels, or some new mechs to play with. The game already has a ton of replay value, but with some more content, it could be almost endless. And the multiplayer mode is a great addition - it's a lot of fun to team up with friends and take on the alien invasion together. Overall, I'd definitely recommend Variety Mecha to anyone who's a fan of action games or mechs - it's a unique and engaging experience that's well worth checking out.

Overall, I'm really glad I picked up Variety Mecha. It's not perfect, but it's a game that's all about having fun and experimenting with different playstyles. And it's a game that's clearly been made with a lot of love and care - you can tell that the developers are passionate about mechs and about gaming, and that enthusiasm is infectious.
